The visual, auditory, and performing arts are all important components of a Humanities education. Athabasca University does not yet offer a degree in Music, but the Humanities Program recognizes the importance of studying music as part of a well-rounded education.
At present the University offers one introductory music course (MUSI 267: Sound and Sense: Listening to Music) and five interdisciplinary courses in the field of music history. The music component of the Humanities program therefore currently comprises the following eight courses:
